About the event

Do dance and movement settings normally overwhelm you? Try changing the narrative and join The Ghostlight Stage Company and Caroline Stine for this immersive 2 hour workshop experience! We will explore how you can find freedom and empowerment through movement, regardless of your body size or what the outdated industry standards might be. Come celebrate moving authentically through space with us!

A 2-hour workshop including:

-a movement workshop that explores your body and how it functions & feels in space, regardless of size

-uplifting all bodies and coming to the theatre as your authentic self

-group feedback on movement and how each system can guide us, rather than hold us back

-a discussion on how the industry sees fat actors, how we see ourselves, and how we can shift these perspectives

About the Teaching Artist: Caroline Stine (she/her) has spent her artistic career as an actor, director, and costume designer. She obtained her BA in Theatre and English at Butler University and her MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University. Her work has been performed and seen in all sorts of bizarre places from old tunnels, the Cincinnati Fringe Festival, Boulder Fringe, and the museums of Russia.
