About the event

Hear our instructors talk more about the Musical Theater Audition Workshop & what to expect: https://youtu.be/3NxhJxFjUrw

A 3-hour workshop including:

  • breaking down the audition process from start to finish
  • how to find, select and prepare your audition materials
  • healthy singing tips and vocal warm ups to help prevent vocal injury and loss of voice when preparing for your big audition
  • "acting while singing" techniques that help you tell a story with your audition piece that keeps the directors interested
  • a mock audition experience with a live audition pianist
  • coaching from a professional actor & a professional vocalist currently working in the industry

Mastering the art of auditioning is a crucial skill to possess as a performer. This low-cost workshop is perfect for students looking to prepare like a professional and is a great way to jump start that college audition preparation or even get tips to help better prepare for upcoming school or community theater auditions! Workshop is for students ages 15 to 19.

Students will be given worksheets with many of the important topics covered so that they can take notes as needed and go home getting as much out of the three hour session as possible. There will also be a mock audition section of the class that will give students the opportunity to perform solo and practice their audition skills in real time. We will get to as many students as time allows for who volunteer, however students are welcome to just observe others as well if they prefer. (More information on what students should come prepared with for the workshop will be provided with workshop ticket purchase.)
